Al-Awady died under circumstances that are still unclear, the ministry said in a statement.

Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty has instructed Egypt’s Consulate General in Dubai to maintain continuous contact with the relevant UAE authorities to determine the circumstances of the incident and expedite the repatriation of the body to Egypt.

The ministry added that it is coordinating with the deceased’s family and their legal representative, noting that Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs Ambassador Haddad El-Gohary is scheduled to receive the victim’s wife and relatives at the ministry’s headquarters to complete the necessary consular procedures and offer condolences.

The foreign ministry said it will continue to follow the case until all required steps are finalized.

Al-Awady was identified by local and social media reports as an Egyptian anesthesiologist and intensive care consultant whose name had drawn attention in recent years over controversial medical and dietary claims.

He had promoted what he described as a nutritional treatment system that he said could address a range of chronic illnesses, including diabetes and kidney disease.

The approach drew mixed reactions, with some followers supporting his methods, while medical professionals questioned their scientific basis.

Media reports said his practices had previously sparked complaints and that authorities had taken regulatory action, including closing a clinic linked to him and removing his name from medical registers.

Investigations into the circumstances of his death in Dubai are ongoing by UAE authorities in coordination with Egyptian officials.
