Abdelatty met Arnault in Cairo as part of the envoy’s regional tour, according to Egypt’s foreign ministry, with discussions focusing on the latest developments across the Middle East.
The Egyptian minister said Cairo is working with regional and international partners to support diplomatic engagement between Washington and Tehran at a critical moment.
He warned that ongoing conflicts risk disrupting shipping routes, global supply chains, and energy markets, with knock-on effects for food security and international trade, as oil prices remain volatile.
Abdelatty said progress in US–Iran talks could help consolidate a ceasefire and reduce escalations, adding that negotiations remain the only viable path to containing the crisis.
Arnault welcomed Egypt’s role in regional diplomacy and efforts to stabilize the region.
Both sides agreed to maintain coordination as diplomatic activity intensifies around efforts to de-escalate conflicts in the region.
