The meeting also covered Egypt–US bilateral relations and broader regional issues, reflecting what spokesman Tamim Khalaf described as a shared appreciation of the depth of the strategic partnership between the two countries, a key pillar for security and stability in the Middle East and Africa.
Both sides expressed a desire to expand cooperation across political and economic tracks and to maintain close coordination on issues of mutual concern.
On regional tensions, Abdelatty reviewed Egypt’s diplomatic efforts to de-escalate conflicts and support ongoing negotiations between Washington and Tehran, reaffirming Cairo’s backing for a negotiated settlement to contain tensions and reinforce regional stability.
Regarding Sudan, Abdelatty stressed the need to preserve the country’s unity and territorial integrity and to safeguard its national institutions, rejecting external interference that could prolong the conflict.
He called for a humanitarian truce as a step toward a lasting ceasefire to facilitate aid delivery and pave the way for an inclusive Sudanese-led political process, while urging an end to attacks on civilians and infrastructure.
On Lebanon, Abdelatty reiterated Egypt’s support for the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, calling for a full cessation of Israeli attacks and backing stronger Lebanese state institutions, particularly the army.
He also welcomed the recently announced ceasefire.

The talks also addressed developments in the Horn of Africa, where Abdelatty emphasized the importance of respecting the sovereignty of regional states, especially Somalia and Eritrea, for maintaining stability.
On water security, he reaffirmed that the Nile is an existential issue for Egypt and rejected unilateral measures affecting transboundary rivers.
Boulos, for his part, praised Egypt’s central role in promoting regional stability and expressed Washington’s commitment to strengthening the strategic partnership and maintaining close coordination to address shared challenges.
Earlier on Monday, President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi held talks with Boulos on regional crises and Egypt’s water security, the presidency said, highlighting convergence with Washington on de-escalation and political solutions.
El-Sisi reiterated that the Nile is an “existential issue” for Egypt, underscoring Cairo’s rejection of unilateral measures on transboundary rivers and its firm stance in the ongoing dispute.
The talks also touched on Sudan and Lebanon, with El-Sisi stressing the need for political solutions, while Boulos praised Egypt’s regional role and affirmed continued U.S. coordination with Cairo.
