Speaking to ON Sport, Diab said the league’s organising body plans to hold a conference in April to reveal a new sponsor, noting that “there will be significant rewards, whether for the champion or the participating clubs.”
The decision to extend the format was approved by the Egyptian Pro League’s General Assembly, he added, underlining what officials view as a successful restructuring of the competition.
Diab said the current season had differed markedly from previous campaigns, pointing to heightened competition across both groups under the revised system. “We saw strong competition and even tougher matches in both groups due to the new format,” he said.
He also stressed that coordination with the Egyptian national team had been prioritised alongside maintaining the league schedule, with efforts focused on ensuring adequate preparation time ahead of the World Cup.
“We are working to provide sufficient time for the national team camp while maintaining the regularity of the league,” Diab said.
