Accompanied by Minister of Education and Technical Education Mohamed Abdel-Latif, the Finnish president was welcomed by GEM CEO Ahmed Ghoneim, who briefed him on the museum, its halls, galleries, and the treasures it houses.
Ghoneim also led the Finnish president and his delegation on a tour inside the GEM, including the Grand Hall, the Grand Staircase, and the Tutankhamun galleries.
President Stubb expressed admiration for the GEM, praising its unique artefacts and collections, as well as the quality of the exhibition design and presentation, according to the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.

After the GEM visit, the Finnish president went to the Giza Pyramids area, where he was received by Director General of the Giza Plateau Antiquities Area Ashraf Mohieldin.
Mohieldin accompanied President Stubb on a tour of the archaeological site, explaining its history, major archaeological discoveries, and ongoing excavation work.
The Finnish president expressed his amazement at the grandeur of the Great Pyramid, how it was built, how its stones were transported, and the duration of its construction, describing it as an engineering and architectural wonder.

He also took commemorative photos at the site and said he looked forward to returning in the future to explore it further.
Stubb’s visit to Cairo, which began on Tuesday, included meetings with President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ahmed El-Tayyeb, and Coptic Orthodox Pope Tawadros II, as well as visits to the Arab League and the American University in Cairo.
