Banks and digital financial service providers have informed customers that system updates will be carried out to ensure all platforms align with the new time settings.

As part of these updates, some services will be temporarily unavailable during the transition period.

One of the digital wallet providers, e& Money, notified users that its services will be unavailable on Thursday, 23 April, starting at 10:45 pm for approximately four hours due to the daylight saving time adjustment and system synchronization procedures.

In parallel, the Commercial International Bank (CIB) issued another alert stating that banking systems will undergo adjustments to accommodate the time change.

Customers may experience temporary disruptions to banking services beginning at 11:00 pm on Thursday, 23 April, continuing until 4:00 am on Friday, 24 April.

The CIB also urged customers to ensure that all personal devices, including mobile phones, computers, and banking applications, are correctly updated to the new local time (GMT+03:00) before conducting any banking transactions that require authentication codes.

The announcements come hours before the country’s shift to summer time, a move that was reintroduced three years ago to reduce energy consumption.
