During the call, the two sides reviewed efforts to cement the current ceasefire and build upon it, with Abdelatty stressing the need for Israel’s full commitment to the truce and an end to any violations that could undermine de-escalation efforts.

He also underscored the importance of intensifying regional and international efforts to extend the ceasefire and work towards a permanent and comprehensive halt to hostilities, enabling the return of displaced persons and easing humanitarian suffering.

The Egyptian minister reaffirmed Cairo’s firm support for Lebanon and its sovereignty and territorial integrity, rejecting any violations thereof.

He also stressed the need for a full Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory and the comprehensive and unselective implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

Abdelatty further highlighted Egypt’s continued efforts to provide political and humanitarian support to the Lebanese people amid the current critical circumstances.
