In a televised speech to the nation, President El-Sisi stressed the necessity of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states, and cautioned against attempts to fragment and dismantle states of the region, seize their peoples’ resources, and fuel internal strife, civil, and broader international wars.
El-Sisi's warnings come as some members of the US administration and Israeli leaders couch their wars in the region, including in Iran, Lebanon, and Palestine, in "inescapable divine plan," linking them to "Armageddon" or "end-times prophecy."
“Egypt believes that the optimal path for the future of this region is not based on occupation, destruction, and bloodshed, but on cooperation, construction, and peace to achieve stability, the only path for prosperity to prevail for all,” El-Sisi emphasized.
He reiterated that political solutions and negotiations remain the best mechanism to spare the region from further disasters, bloodshed, and destruction.
Turning explicitly to Israel, he stressed the importance of the full implementation of the second phase of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip between Tel Aviv and Hamas, brokered by Washington in October 2025, including the unhindered entry of humanitarian aid and the immediate commencement of reconstruction.
He also reiterated Cairo's categorical rejection of any forced displacement of Palestinians.
“We reiterate our unequivocal rejection, beyond any interpretation or compromise, of any attempt to displace the Palestinians under any circumstances,” he stated.
The Egyptian president further called for an end to deadly Israeli transgressions in the occupied West Bank, saying they undermine Palestinian rights and dignity and erode prospects for a political settlement, and calling for the upholding of the values of justice and humanity.
El-Sisi’s stern warnings on Sinai Liberation Day echoed Egypt's positions he had outlined less than 24 hours earlier at an Arab-European Union (EU) consultative meeting in Nicosia, Cyprus, where he stressed that "no actor should be allowed to exploit the current regional instability" to derail the only viable framework for coexistence between Israelis and Palestinians, the two-state solution.
He stressed that the Palestinian cause remains the core crisis in the region, as the central issue for the Arab world and the Middle East.
In a broader warning about regional security architecture, El-Sisi said the Middle East should move toward establishing a weapons-of-mass-destruction-free zone and ensure full, non-discriminatory implementation of nuclear non-proliferation commitments.
“The Iranian crisis has cast a dark shadow over the entire international scene, ensuing in serious repercussions for regional stability, maritime navigation, and the global economy-particularly energy and food security, prices, and disruptions to supply chains-as well as the potential threat of nuclear contamination, which would be a catastrophe,” he stated during the meeting.
El-Sisi’s remarks come as the US-Israeli war on Iran is entering its third month, while regional parties, including Egypt, Turkey, and Pakistan, are continuing intensive efforts to resume talks between Washington and Tehran to end the war.
