The Egyptian foreign minister reaffirmed to his Kuwaiti counterpart Cairo’s full solidarity with Kuwait and other Gulf nations in confronting any attempts to undermine their security and stability.
On Friday, the Kuwaiti military stated that two drones, approaching from the direction of neighbouring Iraq, struck border posts along the countries’ shared frontier, causing material damage but no casualties. No Iraqi group has claimed responsibility for the attack, while Iraq’s interior minister said an investigation into the incident is underway.
Earlier, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry stated that Kuwait’s security is an integral part of Egypt’s national security, reaffirming Cairo’s steadfast position against any attempts to destabilize the Gulf state.
The two ministers also exchanged views on the latest developments in the region, particularly ongoing negotiations between the United States and Iran, according to a foreign ministry statement.
They stressed the importance of holding a second round of talks aimed at consolidating a ceasefire, sustaining calm, and ultimately ending the conflict to prevent serious repercussions for regional stability. Abdelatty emphasized the need to take into account the security concerns of Gulf states in this context.
