The White Knights remain top of the table with 50 points, six ahead of Pyramids FC and Ahly, who face off later on Monday at the Air Defense Stadium.
Zamalek were fortunate not to concede in the first half. Omar Gaber denied Aqtay Abdallah’s close-range effort with a fine block in the fifth minute.
ENPPI defender Ahmed Kalusha had a goal ruled out for offside in the 17th minute.
Zamalek midfielder Mohamed Shehata later cleared Hamed Abdallah’s lob off the line.
The White Knights’ only clear chance of the half came in stoppage time, when Mahmoud Bentayeg’s shot from the edge of the area was saved by the goalkeeper.
Zamalek improved after the break, particularly following the introduction of Nasser Mansi and Ahmed Fatouh in place of Ahmed Rabie and Seif Jaziri, who had been handed a rare start.
Six minutes into the second half, defender Mahmoud Hamdi threatened twice with headers, the first saved by the ENPPI goalkeeper and the second striking the woodwork.
Four minutes later, Brazilian winger Juan Alvina squandered a golden opportunity, firing wide from close range in a one-on-one situation.
Mansi also missed two chances, the first saved by the goalkeeper and the second sent over the bar.
ENPPI relied on counter-attacks and created moments of danger but failed to find the net, as the sides shared the spoils.
Zamalek next face Ahly in a highly anticipated Cairo derby on 1 st May.
