EgyptAir has opened its first dedicated sensory support room at Cairo International Airport for passengers with non-visible disabilities and their companions.

The move aims to improve the travel experience for affected travellers, the country’s flagship airliner said in a statement on Tuesday.

The initiative comes within the framework of the company’s social responsibility efforts and its support for achieving sustainability goals under Egypt Vision 2030.

It aims to enhance the travel experience for individuals with autism spectrum disorder, learning difficulties, and various psychological conditions, as well as those with heightened sensitivity to sound or light.

The room offers a calm and safe environment specifically designed to reduce sensory overstimulation, helping to ease stress and anxiety levels before travel and improve the overall passenger experience.

The facility was recently inaugurated in the departure hall of Terminal 3 at Cairo International Airport, directly opposite Gate 4.

A dedicated team from the General Department of Public Relations will receive passengers at the airport entrance, escort them to the room, assist with travel procedures, and accompany them through to the aircraft gate.

To use the service, passengers must send their flight details, including ticket information, contact number, and arrival time at the airport, to [email protected] at least 48 hours before departure.
