In Photos: Egypt defence minister inspects recruit training unit to assess readiness

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defence and Military Production Lieutenant General Ashraf Salem Zaher inspected a basic training unit for new recruits to assess combat readiness and training systems, the military spokesman said.

The visit, attended by Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa and senior commanders, comes as part of ongoing efforts to enhance the preparation of newly enlisted personnel and ensure alignment with modern military training standards.

Zaher was briefed on recent upgrades at the unit and toured facilities to review the educational process, administrative conditions, and overall training framework. He also visited the selection and orientation department, which assigns recruits to roles based on their capabilities and personal attributes.

During a meeting with soldiers, Zaher conveyed greetings from President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and stressed the military’s commitment to equipping personnel with the scientific, physical, and psychological tools needed to fulfill their duties.

He urged recruits to maintain a high level of awareness of regional and global developments and warned of the growing risks posed by information warfare.

He also called for disciplined use of social media and adherence to the core values and traditions of the Egyptian military.

At the end of the tour, Zaher praised officers and non-commissioned officers responsible for training recruits, highlighting their role in ensuring personnel are fully prepared to carry out assigned missions efficiently.
