Abdelatty expressed Egypt’s interest in working with the new Dutch government to further expand cooperation across various sectors, highlighting positive momentum in bilateral relations at the political, economic and cultural levels.
According to a foreign ministry statement, he stressed the importance of deepening cooperation in areas including port development, healthcare, agriculture, ICT, digitalization, infrastructure, financial services, artificial intelligence and logistics.
The top Egyptian diplomat pointed to broad opportunities for expanding trade and investment, the statement added.
He also called for increased Dutch investment in Egypt, particularly in new economic zones and major national projects, citing available incentives and opportunities.
Abdelatty welcomed ongoing cooperation in water resource management, as well as growing academic ties, including efforts to encourage Dutch universities to establish branches in Egypt.
He further highlighted constructive cooperation on migration, referring to the high-level dialogue held in Cairo in July 2025 and welcoming continued coordination in this field.
Abdelatty also expressed Egypt’s interest in expanding trilateral cooperation with the Netherlands in Africa, particularly in development and capacity-building initiatives.
For his part, Sjoerdsma commended Egypt’s role in supporting regional stability and its efforts to contain regional escalation, and expressed the Netherlands’ keenness to further strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation in the coming period.
