Mood of Oud - music
Friday 10 January, 8pm
Noir Art Zone, Soliman El-Halaby St, off Ramses St, Downtown Cairo
Mood of Oud is a project by Michael Onsi inviting audiences to his own compositions and arrangements.
Onsi will be accompanied by Peter Romani (nay), Azar Qaddis (violin), Bilal Al-Hanawi (cello), and Yassin Badr (percussion)
Composer and oud player, Onsi studied oud at Cairo's Beit El-Oud, founded by Naseer Shamma, and graduated with excellence in late 2017.
A series of concerts and tours followed, in which he played with different troupes, many led by Shamma. Alongside this, Onsy began composing his own music until his trajectory converged on Mood for Oud, a project which he presented on numerous stages.
A Room of Her Own - theatre
Friday 8, Saturday 9 May, 7pm
Rawabet Art Space, 5 Hussein Basha Al Meamari, Downtown, Cairo
A Room of Her Own is a poetic physical theatre piece set in a single, timeless room where three women inhabit the same space without seeing one another, each absorbed in her own solitude.
Through movement, fragmented narrative, and minimal text, the performance follows how memory persists in gestures, silences, and everyday rituals. As their inner worlds begin to echo, recurring movements and shifting rhythms suggest subtle, unseen connections, gradually turning the space into a reflection on presence and absence, where silence becomes quietly shared.
