Captain Ahmed Adel, chairman and CEO of EgyptAir Holding Company, met with Robert Silverman, Chargé d’Affaires at the US embassy in Cairo, and an accompanying delegation at the company’s headquarters to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in air transport.
The delegation was received by Captain Sherif Khalil, assistant chairman of EgyptAir Holding Company; Major General Ismail Safwat, head of the Security Sector at EgyptAir Holding Company; and Amr Adawy, head of the Commercial Sector at EgyptAir Airlines.
The meeting discussed ways to strengthen cooperation and expand air links between Egypt and the United States.

During the meeting, Captain Adel reviewed the company’s strategy to expand its network in the United States, describing the American market as one of Egypt’s most important tourism markets, especially amid growing demand for travel to major US cities.
He said EgyptAir is working to increase flight frequencies between Cairo and several American cities, highlighting preparations to launch new direct flights to Chicago and Los Angeles in May and June.
The move aims to strengthen the airline’s global presence, provide customers with more direct travel options, and reinforce EgyptAir’s position as one of the leading airlines in the region.
Adel added that the two new routes reflect the company’s plan to offer a more diverse and flexible network for passengers.

For his part, Robert Silverman praised the historic relations between Egypt and the United States, expressing appreciation for EgyptAir’s role in supporting air transport and strengthening ties between the Egyptian and American peoples.
He added that the launch of the new routes would further support economic and tourism relations between the two countries.
