Pyramids FC sit second in the standings on 51 points, two behind Zamalek heading into the final round of the Big Seven phase.

On paper, the Egypt Cup holders are strong favorites given the gulf in quality between the two sides.

Smouha, meanwhile, have endured a disappointing Big Seven campaign, losing all of their matches in the final stage.

Should Pyramids FC secure the league crown, they would complete the first domestic double in the club’s history after lifting the Egypt Cup last week.

Even if Zamalek win the title, Pyramids will still be determined to claim all three points to guarantee qualification for next season’s CAF Champions League as league runners-up.

Pyramids FC boast a talented squad featuring international midfielder Mohannad Lasheen, Walid El Karti, Ahmed Atef and playmaker Nasser Maher.

They also possess a potent attacking threat in striker Fiston Mayele, who was named in DR Congo’s squad for this summer’s World Cup.

Despite expectations favoring Pyramids FC, they will be wary of complacency after suffering a surprise 2-1 defeat to Smouha in the reverse fixture earlier this season.
