The Pharaohs, placed in Pot 1 ahead of the draw, headline a competitive Group B as they seek qualification for the continental tournament, which will kick off on 19 June 2027 and conclude with the final on 17 July.
CAF said the qualifying campaign will feature 48 national teams divided into 12 groups, with the top two sides from each group advancing directly to the finals.
The draw ceremony, hosted in Egypt, was attended by four African football legends: former Egypt goalkeeper Essam El-Hadary, Côte d’Ivoire’s Max Gradel, Nigeria captain William Troost-Ekong, and DR Congo icon Trésor Mputu.
Côte d’Ivoire were drawn in Group C alongside Ghana, Gambia, and Somalia, while Tunisia will face Uganda, Libya, and Botswana in Group H.
Nigeria were paired with Madagascar, Tanzania, and Guinea-Bissau in Group L, while Senegal will meet Mozambique, Sudan, and Ethiopia in Group J.
The full draw produced the following groups:

Group C: Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Gambia, Somalia.
