Egypt lose 29-24 to hosts Spain in the World Championship on Monday

Egypt slumped to their second straight defeat at the Handball World Championship after losing 29 -24 (16-11) to hosts Spain on Monday.

The Egyptian team struggled against the European giants, who dominated the entire game.

Egypt have also lost 32-23 to Hungary in Group D opener on Saturday.

The Pharaohs will be in a must-win situation on Tuesday when they face Algeria in the third matchday to secure a place in the second round.

The first four teams in each group will qualify to the next round.

Earlier in the day Croatia, thrashed Algeria 31-20 to lead Group D.
