Egypt's sole representative in the Arab UAFA Cup, Ismaily, gained a first-leg advantage in the tournament's quarter-finals after holding CR Belouizdad to a 1-1 draw in Algeria on Tuesday.
Forward Omar Gamal gave Ismaily the lead in the 53rd minute after a fine pass from striker Ahmed Aly, but the hosts restored parity with a header from Islam Silmani four minutes later.
The second leg will be played in Ismailya on 27 February.
