Egypt's Journalists Syndicate released a statement on Wednesday annoucing a number of journalists have filed a complaint to the syndicate head, saying they were attacked by members of Cairo's Virgin Mary Church boy scouts on Tuesday while working.
The syndicate condemned the attack and demanded the church issue an apology.
Journalists have been victims of many attacks lately, read the statement.
The statement also declared the syndicate stood in solidarity with assaulted journalists to protect them from any violation of their legal rights.
The most recent attack on journalists was at the Muslim Brotherhood headquarters in Cairo’s Moqattam district last month. Journalists held several demonstrations condemning the assaults.
