Zamalek's assistant coach Ossama Nabih revealed on Monday that team's midfielder Ahmed Hassam will be fit to play against Ittihad El-Shorta in the Egyptian league on Wednesday.

The veteran midfielder picked-up a hamstring injury during the White Knights training session last week.

He consequently missed Zamalek's 1-1 draw against Ethiopian side Saint George in the first leg of the Champions League round 16, last weekend.

"Hassan is medically fit to play in Wednesday's encounter," Ossama Nabih told Ahram Sports on Monday.

"But his participation depends on coach Vieira's decision," he added.

The 37-year-old produced a string of strong displays with the White Knights.

Meanwhile Zamalek's defensive midfielder Ibrahim Salah will miss Wednesday's clash due to an automatic suspension.

Zamalek are leading Group B in the Egyptian league with 24 points, six clear ahead of second placed Ismaily.
