Former England boss Eriksson is included in Cameroon’s short-list for their managerial seat, the country’s football federation said on Friday.
The Cameroon Football Federation is seeking a replacement for interim manager Jean-Paul Akono who was appointed in September last year following the sacking of French manager Denis Lavagne.
"A number of high-profile figures, including former England boss Sven-Goran Erikson, are being considered for the job of Cameroon coach," the Cameroon Football Federation revealed Friday.
"We had received more than 100 applications to become the next manager of the Indomitable Lions," the federation (Fecafoot) spokesman Junior Binyam told AFP.
"A number of domestic coaches had applied but several well-known names were also in the running.
"They include former Paris Saint-Germain player and coach Luis Fernandez, ex-England boss Eriksson, the current DR Congo manager Claude Le Roy and the former France coach Roger Lemerre."
The 65-year-old Eriksson was in charge of Ivory Coast at the 2010 World Cup, Lemerre guided hosts Tunisia to the 2004 Africa Cup of Nations title while Le Roy led Cameroon to glory in the same competition in 1988 in Morocco.
