Everton moved within three points of a Europa League qualification spot after beating Fulham 1-0 in the Premier League on Saturday.

South African midfielder Steve Pienaar scored in the 16th minute to lift Everton to 59 points. Tottenham drew 2-2 with Wigan on Saturday to stay fifth in the automatic Europa League berth with 62 points but having played one match less.

Chelsea is also on 62 points in the final Champions League spot but with a game in hand on Spurs and two on Everton.

It was Fulham's 20th straight league loss at Goodison Park, and the visitors rarely looked interested in a lackluster match containing few scoring opportunities as they are in 11th place and safe from any relegation fears.
