The technical staff of Egypt’s national team, under the helms of American manager Bob Bradley, are meeting Tuesday to discuss the Pharaohs’ preparations for the African qualifiers to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
"We will be starting a closed camp on 2 June, four days before playing a friendly against Botswana," Bradley's assistant and goalkeeper coach Zaki Abdel-Fattah told Ahram Sports Tuesday.
Egypt face Zimbabwe and Mozambique in two away games, on 9 and 16 June respectively.
"The technical staff members are watching the domestic and continental matches of Egyptian clubs to search for new players before announcing the final squad later this month," Abdel-Fattah added.
Egypt will be missing some key players due to injury, including striker Mohamed Nagy “Gedo”, Ismaily midfielder Hosni Abd-Rabou and Ahly young defender Rami Rabiea.
Bidding to reach the world's most prestigious football championship for the first time since 1990, Egypt have made a perfect start to their qualifying campaign, collecting a maximum nine points from three games.
They are five points ahead of Guinea and seven clear of third-placed Mozambique with three matches remaining.
