Mohamed Youssef will remain in charge of Ahly in the coming season after extending his contract with the Cairo giants on Saturday.
"The football committee decided to extend the Youssef's contract and that of his assistants to lead the team in the coming 2013/2014 season," Ahly announces on its official website.
"The decision comes to provide more stability and concentration for the team at both the domestic and continental levels in the coming period," the statement added.
When head coach Hossam El-Badry left suddenly, then assistant coach Youssef was called on to head the team from May until the end of the current season.
After the Reds ended the round of 16 in the African Champions League by beating Bizertin of Tunisia on 5 May, El-Badry announced he would take charge of Ahly Tripoli in Libya staring in June.
Under the guidance of the 43-year-old Youssef, African Champions League title holders, Ahly, bagged maximum points from four league matches.
Ahly, who had already secured passage to the Egyptian league's decisive phase, are currently on top of group A with 36 points.
