Kabul member of parliament escaped unscathed from bomb targeting him, which kills 3, wounds 24 instead

A bomb targeting a prominent lawmaker in Kabul on Tuesday killed three civilians and wounded 24 other people, police said.

The member of parliament escaped unhurt, aides and police said.

"Three civilians were killed and 24 others, including some guards, are wounded," Mohammad Zahir, the CID chief of Kabul, told reporters at the scene.

He said it was an improvised explosive device, correcting earlier reports of a suicide attack.
