Ahly winger Walid Soliman will miss Wednesday's African Champions League clash against Cairo rivals Zamalek after picking up an ankle injury.

The 28-year-old sustained the injury during Ahly's last training session before facing Zamalek in their opening Group A encounter.

Soliman is one of Ahly's key players, thanks to his penetrating runs down the flanks and accurate shots. He is likely to be replaced by attacking midfielder Abdallah El-Said.

Zamalek host Ahly at a tiny 12,000-seat in the Red Sea resort of El-Gouna.

The match, which will kick off at 4:30 pm in searing heat, is due to be played behind closed doors due to security concerns in Egypt but the hardcore supporters of both clubs vowed to defy the crowd ban and attend the game.

Ahly, the record holders of the Champions League with seven titles under their belt, are eyeing a second consecutive triumph while success-starved Zamalek are chasing their first continental title since 2002.
