Second attack in one day leaves another conscript dead in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, highlighting growing instability in region since Morsi ouster

Unknown assailants killed a second conscript in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula on Monday evening, continuing the daily spree of attacks on security facilities since the popularly-backed army removal of former Islamist president Mohamed Morsi on 3 July.

The 29 year-old died after being shot in the head by a suspected sniper, reported Al-Ahram's Arabic website.

On Monday morning, another conscript was killed and 8 were injured in an attack targeting Al-Saha military camp in Sinai's Rafah.

At least 24 policemen and soldiers have been killed by similar attacks since 3 July.

North Sinai has witnessed a growing security vacuum following the ouster of former president Hosni Mubarak in February 2011.
