Zamalek manager Hossam Hassan named his 18-man squad on Wednesday leaving hit-man striker Amr Zaki out for the upcoming Club Africain match in Tunisia, part of early round play for the CAF African Champions League.

Zaki hasn’t fully recovered from his knee injury which has kept him off the pitch since last October.

The 28-year old forward was barred from travelling with his teammates to Syria to take part in the preoperational camp ahead of the African game after receiving an adverse knock during his club’s friendly against the National Bank Club last week.

The White Nights’ squad also didn’t include Qatari international forward Hussein Yasser El Mohamady who has been suspended due to a second yellow card he received in the Kenyan Stars’ game in Cairo.

Tunisian side Club Africain will host Egyptian giants Zamalek in the CAF Champions League round of 32 on 20 March after crushing Rwanda’s APR 4-0 at home in the preliminary stage.
