Kenya coach Adel Amrouche on Friday recalled former captain Dennis Oliech in his 27-man squad to face Namibia in next month's 2014 World Cup final preliminary round match.
Amrouche's decision to pick the 28-year-old France-based striker comes only two months after the player appeared to have fallen out of favour with the coach.
Oliech was kicked out of the team and stripped of the captaincy by Amrouche in June for his failure to attend training before the team travelled to Malawi.
But the coach however still has some admiration for Oliech for his decade-long goal-scoring prowess and has named two new caps, Rodgers Omondi and Jesse Were to pair the veteran striker against Namibia in Nairobi on September 8.
"Oliech has been going for goals alone and finding them the way he wants for too long. Omondi and Were should bring a new dimension to the team's attack because everyone in my team should be able to score," Amrouche told reporters.
Kenya has not won any match in the World Cup qualifying campaign, having drawn three and lost two in the five matches and occupy fourth place with three points.
