Tunisia's new appointed coach Ruud Krol said his side will have a very "tough mission" when they face Cameroon in the World Cup play-offs, adding that he is confident that his players will do their best to overcome the Indomitable Lions.

The Dutchman was named as Tunisia's coach last week after Nabil Maaloul was sacked following the shock 2-0 loss to Cape Verde.

That defeat initially meant that the Tunisians were out of contention for a spot in next year's World Cup in Brazil, but the result was later overturned when Cape Verde were sanctioned by the FIFA for fielding an ineligible player during the game.

"It will be a very tough game," Krol was quoted as saying by AFP.

"The team needs some modifications, but I do not have enough time to make it."

The Dutch coach, who guided Club Sfaxien to win the Tunisian league last season, praised the strength of the Cameroonian squad, which includes several stars like Chelsea's striker Samuel Eto'o.

"They are a very strong team. They have Samuel Eto'o who is an excellent striker. We have to be cautious," he added.

French magazine L'equipe reported earlier this month that Eto'o had told his teammates that he has retired from international duty, but Cameroon's coach Volker Finke refused to confirm the matter.
