Ghana's goalkeeper Fatau Dauda said on Monday that he doesn't fear the potential return of Black Stars' veteran keeper Richard Kingson ahead of the anticipated Egypt clash in the World Cup play-offs.

Dauda has reserved a place in the team's starting XI since the 2013 African Cup of Nations, but he has come under fire since his shaky performance during Ghana's 2-1 win over Zambia in a World Cup group stage's decider last month.

The 28-year-old, who moved to South African's side Orlando Pirates from Ghana's outfit Ashanti Gold this summer, confirmed that he is unfazed by reports suggesting the return of Ghana's veteran keeper Richard Kingson, adding that he is ready for the challenge.

"Football is all about challenges. I left Ashanti Gold this summer for a fresher challenge here at Pirates and I'm doing all I can to snatch the first choice role here," Dauda was quoted as saying by Ghanasoccernet on Monday.

"I'm not concerned about who comes in to challenge for the number one spot at all.

"The most important thing for us all [players] is to give our best to make sure Ghana qualifies for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil," he added.

Ghana will host Egypt in Kumasi on 15 October in the first leg of the World Cup qualifying playoff. The return leg will take place in Cairo on 19 November.

The Pharaohs are eyeing their first World Cup appearance since 1990, while Ghana are seeking to reach the tournament for the third consecutive time, having reached the quarter finals in their last appearance in 2010.
