Zamalek's new-signing Ahmed Fawzi has terminated his contract with the club by mutual consent, the Cairo giants announced on their website on Tuesday.
The club said the player "did not adapt to the team during the past period" and "struggled to stay away from his family, which is based in Suez".
However, according to Ahram Sports, the 29-year-old quit the club after the latter failed to fulfill their financial obligations toward him.
Zamalek have announced last July that they signed full-back Fawzi from Masry on a three-year contract.
