Ethiopia defender Asrat Megersa has said he feels no pressure ahead of the World Cup qualifier with Nigeria.

The Black Lions have confirmed they will host Nigeria on Sunday 13 October in the first leg.

"I have reached a time in my career when I feel things have really worked well," Megersa was quoted as saying on Supersport.

"A few years ago no one would have imagined we would be in the spot we are now, but the dream is finally coming to fruition.

"It has not been an easy road but determination, hard work and self belief have helped the team to forge ahead with a winning spirit," the defender added.

The Super Eagles rank 36th in the world, according to international football governing body FIFA, while Ethiopia clocks in at 93.

"Personally I am more than delighted and despite talk from many people about the toughness of the Nigeria game I feel no pressure at all as they are just normal players like we are.

"Their historical achievements will not matter to us as we will play our hearts out like we have done in the past matches without any fear," Megersa concluded.
