The trial of three prominent activists for breaking the protest law and assaulting police will begin on Sunday, prosecutors have said.
April 6 Youth Movement founder Ahmed Maher and activist Ahmed Douma are already in police custody, while April 6 leading member Mohamed Adel has not been arrested.
The charges stem from a protest outside the Supreme Court in downtown Cairo on Saturday, during which seven policemen were allegedly assaulted.
The trio faces a number of other charges including thuggery and blocking traffic.
