Assets of three of Mubarak's inner circle frozen

Decision follows that on Thursady to ban the three and their families from leaving Egypt with the former housing minister also being investigated for corruption

The assets of the former heads of Parliament, the Upper House and Hosni Mubarak’s office were officially frozen this afternoon for illicitly profiting from their posts. 

A court ruling was alsopronounced on Monday allowing for the bank accounts of the three heavyweights from the former regime to be inspected.

Fathi Sorour, Safwat El-Sherif and Zakaria Azmi were the inner circle of the old guard supporting ousted Hosni Mubarak within the National Democratic Party.

The decision concerns the officials and their families and comes on top of a travel ban issued on Thursday. The former housing and utilities minister Ibrahim Suleiman was also banned from traveling today pending an investigation for alleged corruption. Suleiman is a recipient of the Nile Ribbon, Egypt's highest civilian honour, 

Preliminary investigations revealed their wealths to dwarf the incomes for their posts.
