Renowned colloquial poet Amin Haddad will host his latest poetry and music evening at Doum Cultural Foundation on Saturday, 1 March.
Sher fi Hodn El-Mazika (Poetry held by Music) is the title of Haddad’s poetry and music evening. Accompanying Haddad on stage will be music band Eskenderella, as well as performer Doaa Hamza. Music composed by Hazem Chahine will be performed.
Last month, Haddad published his latest book of poetry Gezirat Al-Ahyaa (The Island of the Living), with Al-Shorouk Publishing House
Haddad is one of the main founders of Ferqat Al-Sharea (The Street Troupe), dedicated to vernacular poetry performances and first established in 2000. He has published seven books of poetry and was awarded the International Cavafy Poetry Prize in 2011.
Due to limited space, the performance will be held twice on the same day.
