A Liverpool doctor is present with the team's Senegalese striker Sadio Mane at the ongoing African Cup of Nations upon the request of the Premier League club, Senegal Football Federation (SFF) president Augustin Senghor revealed on Wednesday.
Senghor said that Liverpool had thanked the SFF in an official letter for their "cooperation" over the matter.
"Someone could see that as a bad sign, as any player could come with his own doctor, but Liverpool explained their reasons and we were convinced," Senghor told Senegalese site galsenfoot on Wednesday.
Mane produced some fine displays with Liverpool this season, scoring eight goals in 19 appearances in the Premier League.
Title contenders Senegal reached the Nations Cup quarters after finishing on top of Group B with seven points, one ahead of second-placed Tunisia.
They will face Cameroon in a tough last-eight clash on Saturday.
