Newly-crowned African champions Cameroon will face Germany and Chile in their second FIFA Confederations Cup appearance after winning the Nations Cup at the expense of Egypt on Sunday.
The Indomitable Lions, who claimed a comeback 2-1 win over Egypt, will also play Australia in Group B of the tournament, which takes place in Russia from June 17 to July 2 and is a warmup event for the World Cup in Russia a year later.
European champion Portugal will face hosts Russia in Group A, along with Mexico and New Zealand. Russia will play New Zealand in the opening game in St. Petersburg.
Cameroon took part in the the Confederations Cup in 2003 and played a semi-final against Colombia that witnessed one of the poignant incidents in the country's footballing history when Marc-Vivien Foe died on the pitch due to a heart failure.
