Egypt coach Javier Aguirre said on Sunday he is proud after his side booked their ticket to the Nations Cup round of 16 as Group A leaders, hailing the players for coping with the pressure of playing before more than 70,000 supporters.

The Pharaohs made it three wins out of three after defeating Uganda 2-0 on Sunday, thanks to two first-half goals from Mohamed Salah and skipper Ahmed Elmohamady.

"We realized our target," Aguirre told the post-match news conference.

"I am proud that we took maximum points and kept clean sheets," he added.

The Mexican coach said that his players were under intense pressure infront of a sell-out crowd at Cairo Stadium.

"It is so difficult to play in front of 70,000 supporters. Fans always make pressure on the players. They usually want their team to win and they do not accept any other result," he added.

"Uganda was the hardest team to play against. The team needed some faith, which is what we got from the three games. We qualified and we're getting ready for what's next."
