Egypt's quartet Mohamed Salah, Ahmed Elmohamady, Ahmed Hegazi and Mohamed El Shennawi were included in CAF's best starting line-up for the African Cup of Nations group stage on Wednesday.

Liverpool forward Salah and Aston Villa right-back Elmohamady scored two goals apiece to help Egypt finish on top of Group A with maximum nine points after wins over Zimbabwe, DR Congo and Uganda.

Ahly goalkeeper El-Shennawi and West Bromwich defender Hegazi also helped the Pharaohs keep a clean sheet in the three games.

Algerian duo Ismail Bennacer and forward Riyad Mahrez as well as Morocco defender Achraf Hakimi, Senegal midfielder Sadio Mane, Ghana forward Jordan Ayew, Cameroon defender Yaya Banana and Madagascar midfielder Anicet Andrianantenaina were also named among the best 11.

Egypt will face South Africa on Saturday at Cairo's International Stadium in the round of 16. They are targeting a record-extending eight Nations Cup title and their first since 2010.
