Vitoria, 53, took charge of the Egyptian national team in July 2022 and has already led them to secure their record-extending 26th appearance in the 2024 African Cup of Nations, which will be held in Ivory Coast.
"My goal, with my current contract expiring in 2026, is to qualify for the FIFA World Cup," Vitoria stated during a press conference after announcing the final squad for the training camp in the UAE.
Egypt will conduct this training camp from 9 to 17 October as part of their preparations for the 2024 African Cup of Nations finals, scheduled for January 2024 in Côte d'Ivoire.
During the camp, Egypt will participate in two friendly matches, the first against Zambia on 12 October and the second against Algeria on 16 October.
"Playing against Algeria and Zambia provides strong tests for the players, with two significant games scheduled within a 72-hour period," Vitoria added.
"We always seek challenging matches during preparations for the African Cup of Nations finals and the World Cup qualifiers," the Portuguese coach emphasized.
Under Vitoria's guidance, the Pharaohs have shown promise, winning eight games and suffering only one defeat since his appointment in July 2022. In these nine matches, Egypt scored 21 goals and conceded only five.
Egypt have already secured their place in the 2023 African Cup of Nations and will commence their 2026 World Cup qualifiers campaign in November.
The Pharaohs have been fortunate in the draw for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, placed in Group A alongside Burkina Faso, Guinea-Bissau, Sierra Leone, Ethiopia, and Djibouti.
Egypt had qualified for the FIFA World Cup on three occasions: in 1934, 1990, and 2018.
