The 31-year-old talent will fill the spot left vacant by Pyramids FC's defender, Osama Galal, who was excluded from the squad on Thursday due to injury.
"Medical examinations have revealed that Osama Galal is suffering from a knee injury, making his participation in the Africa Cup of Nations starting on 13 January, unlikely," read a statement on the Egyptian Football Association's official website.
"Yasser Ibrahim has been summoned to join the national team camp in Egypt's New Administrative Capital," the statement added.
Ibrahim, currently with Ahly, has been in exceptional form, playing a pivotal role in the Red Devils' recent achievement of the bronze medal in the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup, followed by clinching the Egyptian Super Cup title.
To date, Ibrahim has accumulated six international caps, notably featuring in the two-leg match against Senegal during the final round of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
Egypt, unfortunately, suffered a 3-1 defeat in penalty kicks, missing the opportunity to participate in the prestigious tournament.
In AFCON 2023, Egypt is placed in Group B alongside Ghana, Mozambique, and Cape Verde.
Before departing for Cote d'Ivoire, the Pharaohs are scheduled to play a friendly match against Tanzania on 7 January in Cairo.
Egypt's campaign in the continental tournament will kick off on 14 January against Mozambique.
The seven-time AFCON champions will then face Ghana on 18 January in the second round of Group B matches, concluding the group stage against Cape Verde on January 22.
