“We haven’t lost anything; it is good that this draw happened at the beginning of the campaign so we will be able to work on our problems. We are still favorites,” the Portuguese coach told beIN Sport after the game.
Egypt, overwhelming favorites in their match against Mozambique, had to fight to salvage a point, thanks to an injury-time penalty from Mohamed Salah.
“We started the game well, but we were playing against a good team, and I said that before the game. It wasn’t our day, but it happens for big teams. Now we will have to focus on Ghana. They are a strong team, and we must be well-prepared for them,” Vitoria concluded.
Egypt will host Ghana in a top-of-the-group clash on Thursday.
