Despite his sentiment, he emphasizes that the most important thing for him is to contribute to the team's success and help them win games.

Since making his international debut in March 2014, Trezeguet has made 67 appearances for the Pharaohs, scoring 15 goals and providing seven assists.

He is Egypt's second-highest scorer in this generation of the national team, after Liverpool star Mohamed Salah.

"I feel that I am not getting the importance I deserve,” Trezeguet said in a televised interview released on Wednesday

‘’But the most important thing for me is to show my benefit to the national team, be influential, and contribute to achieving victory."

The 29-year-old expressed his positive relationship with his Pharaohs teammate Omar Marmoush, who shares the role of left winger with him.

"Omar Marmoush is a great player, and I am proud of what he does in Germany. I support him and always help him."

Egypt will face Ghana in their second Group B game of the African Cup of Nations on Thursday.
