“I am so proud of my players. They applied the instructions perfectly, what makes me even more proud is their behaviour on the pitch. When one loses the ball, another recovers it. I liked seeing this solidarity. My players wanted more even after the third goal, they still wanted to score. It’s this competitive spirit that I like,” Bubista said with excitement.
The Blue Sharks became the first team to qualify for the last 16 after two group games, a feat Bubista attributed to their unwavering commitment.
“We didn’t want to go into calculations. It’s a victory that does us a lot of good, especially for our confidence,” he added.
Cape Verde will conclude their Group C campaign against Egypt on Monday, aiming to carry their momentum into the knockout rounds.
