Salah starts rehab, determined to return to AFCON as soon as possible

Egypt skipper Mohamed Salah confirmed on Thursday that he has begun his rehabilitation program after sustaining a hamstring injury at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Liverpool forward was forced off before halftime in Egypt's 2-2 draw against Ghana on Sunday.

He promptly returned to England to expedite his recovery and shared a message on Twitter expressing his unwavering love for Egypt and its people.

"I started the treatment and rehabilitation program yesterday and I will do everything possible to be ready as soon as possible and return to the national team as agreed from the beginning," he wrote.

Egypt will face DR Congo on Sunday in the round of 16, If the Pharaohs advance, they will face the winner between Equatorial Guinea and Guinea in the quarter-finals.
