The Leopards have secured their first victory of the tournament in the quarterfinals against Guinea, having previously drawn all four of their group stage games against Zambia, Morocco, and Tanzania, before the 1-1 against Egypt in the round of the last 16.

"This win comes at the perfect time as we are gaining momentum in the competition. We have won, we have drawn, but we have not lost," stated the Frenchman.

While acknowledging the difficulty of the task ahead, Desabre emphasized his belief in his team's potential for success, highlighting the firepower provided by forwards such as Bakambu, Banza, and Mayele Fiston.

"We possess forwards like Bakambu, Banza, and Mayele Fiston. We knew it was only a matter of time before we achieved this breakthrough," Desabre insisted.

DR Congo, aiming for their third AFCON title, previously emerged victorious in 1968 and 1974.

"When you reach the semifinals, your initial goal is to reach the final. And if you have the opportunity to reach the final, you strive to win it," expressed Desabre.

"We will give our all to ensure that we have no regrets," the determined coach concluded.
