The 25-year-old arrived in Cairo recently to finalize his deal with Ahly, successfully completing his medical exam, where he is set to join the Red Devils on a four-year contract.
Ahly introduced the player in a short video posted on their official social media account, depicting him in the attire of a Carthaginian general, with the caption, “Ben Romdhane at the doors.”
Egyptian media reports estimate the fee for the deal at $2.5 million, with the player receiving an annual salary of $1 million.
Ben Romdhane was close to joining the Red Devils during the winter transfer period last January, but minor details prevented the deal from being finalized.
The international midfielder who has 45 caps with Tunisia, began his football career at Esperance de Tunis before joining Ferencváros in the summer of 2023 on a free transfer.
He made 74 appearances with Ferencváros in all competitions, scoring 8 goals and providing 11 assists.
Ben Romdhane is the fourth player to join Ahly ahead of their upcoming participation in the FIFA Club World Cup this month, following Mahmoud ‘Trezeguet’ Hassan, Hamdy Fathy and Arab Contractors’ goalkeeper Mohamed Seha.
