The Cairo giants - 12-time African champions - will face their Brazilian counterpart Palmeiras - a three-time Copa Libertadores champion - in the second round of the 32-team tournament group stage on Thursday.
Ahly and Palmeras lie in Group A alongside Portuguese club Porto and the MLS side Inter Miami.
Ahly opened their World Cup campaign in the US with a 0-0 draw against MLS side Inter Miami early on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Palmeiras and two-time European champion Porto tied 0-0 in their opening match early on Monday.
Paulinho, Palmeiras's 24-year-old forward, said: “We’ve seen a bit of them. They’re a team who produces a lot, who have quick players in attack. They gave Inter Miami a lot of problems."
He added, “In big competitions, there are no easy opponents. It will be another difficult game, but we’ll have to fight with everything we’ve got to get the win."
Ahly have participated in the Club World Cup on nine previous occasions, winning four bronze medals.
Palmeiras made two previous appearances in the prestigious tournament, finishing as runners-up in 2021.
